"My son, Nathan, was born on July 28, 2009. My wife and I wanted to have a natural birth but he chose to be stubborn. What started as a simple induction quickly turned into an emergency c-section. It was very chaotic and stressful, I was glad we had chosen to have a doula there with us. I felt overwhelmed with so many medical terms and staff hurrying to take care of my wife. Our doula, Mona, was able to explain exactly what was going on and keep me calm during the whole experience.

The pre planning done with Mona definately helped during the first few days when everything was new and unexpected. She met with us a few times before the birth to help us develop our wish list for the birth. During these meetings she provided useful suggestions to help my wife and I prepare for the birth as well as just dealing with the changes my wife was experiencing due to the pregnancy. I found creating the wish list very helpful, I had no idea there were so many options for medication and even procedures e.g. waiting for the umbilical cord to stop pulsing before clamping.

Mona continued to help after Nathan was born. She visited us in the hospital providing more guidance, answering the million questions my wife and I had. She thought of everything, she even made us an excellent meal which was greatly appreciated when we came home from the hospital.

I have recommended Mona to friends who are expecting without hesitation. My wife and I plan on having more children and I cannot imagine going through it without Mona by our side again."

"I had my third child this past June and decided to try a natural birth with the help of a Doula. The first child was induced and the second was delivered with an epidural. I didn't have a doula with the first two pregnancies because I didn't know there was such thing. Mona supported me every step of the way to have a natural labour and delivery. I had the most wonderful birth experience. The baby was very alert and breast fed right away compared to the first two children and the bonding was there the moment I gave birth. I also recovered a lot faster compared to the first two deliveries. I was able to walk 1 hr after I had the baby.

As a mother of three I would highly recommend for any new mother to be to hire Mona. She was knowledgeable, caring and supportive of my decisions. She even brought us food after I had the baby. My husband loved the broccoli salad. Every time we make broccoli salad we think of Mona and the birth of our son. Thank you, Mona for everything you have done for us."
