About Me

I had the pleasure of accompanying my daughter and son in law for the birth of my grandson. That experience changed me forever. Birth is powerful and primal and I knew it was a path I needed to follow.

I am certified with DONA International. I have continued to take additional trainings and attend conferences including:

• - Igniting Confidence in Maternity Care and When Survivors Give Birth with Penny Simkin
• - Advanced Comfort Measures -Rebozo Techniques with Isabel Perez
• - Birth Works-What Don't We Know in North America with Ina May Gaskin
• - Hypnobirthing Labour Support Techniques the Mongan Method

I am also a member of DoulaCARE which is a Canadian Registry And Education of doulas in Ontario. I am the Rep for York Region.

Recently I was published in a book written by doulas titled "Bearing Witness: Childbirth Stories Told by Doulas". It is available at Chapters and Indigo bookstores.

I volunteer at the Welcome Wagon Baby Showers providing community awareness. I also co-host at the Prenatal Plus Centre:a free educational workshop entitled: What's A Father To Do? Getting Dad Ready for Labour, Birth & The Postpartum Period, a fun and interactive evening for couples readying Dad for the new arrival.

I am the mother of two grown daughters, two wonderful son in laws and four beautiful grandchildren. I reside in Georgina with my supportive husband of 35 years and a spoiled bull/boxer named Rodney. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, music and travel. I am honoured by the families that choose me to be their doula.
